Is Whitening Suitable For You?

Teeth whitening is a regulated dental treatment in the UK. Only registered dental professionals can legally supply whitening products containing more than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide. We will not provide whitening if it is not clinically appropriate.

Whitening typically is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for patients under 18 for cosmetic reasons, or where active decay, untreated gum disease or unrestored teeth are present. Whitening only affects natural tooth enamel — existing crowns, veneers, bonding and fillings will not change colour and may need to be replaced if you wish to match a new shade. Some patients experience temporary tooth sensitivity during or after treatment, which usually resolves within a few days. Your dentist will discuss all of this with you at your assessment.

If at any point you are unhappy with your care, we welcome your feedback. Our complaints procedure is published on our website and available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does teeth whitening cost in London?

At our Medical & Dental clinics in London, dentist-supervised home whitening with custom trays is currently available at our offer price of £199 (standard fee £399). The offer is available to all patients while it remains in place and is subject to change. A short suitability assessment is required first to confirm whitening is appropriate for you.

What is included in the price?

The £199 offer fee covers a digital scan of your teeth, two custom-made whitening trays fabricated by a UK dental laboratory, professional-grade whitening gel, written usage instructions and dentist supervision throughout your treatment.

Are there any additional costs?

A separate dental examination or hygiene appointment may be recommended before whitening if your records are out of date or if active gum or tooth issues are identified. Top-up gel can be purchased after treatment if you wish to maintain your shade. We will confirm any additional costs in writing before treatment begins.

Why is professional whitening more expensive than over-the-counter kits?

In the UK, whitening products above 0.1% hydrogen peroxide can only legally be supplied by a registered dental professional. Professional treatment includes a clinical assessment, custom-made trays for even gel contact, controlled-concentration gel within legal limits, and supervision by a GDC registered dentist. Over-the-counter products use much lower concentrations and are not custom-fitted.

Do you offer payment plans for whitening?

Whitening on its own is normally paid for at the time of treatment. For larger combined treatments we may be able to discuss payment options at your consultation.

Is the price the same at South Kensington and City of London?

Yes. Whitening pricing is consistent across both our London clinics — £199 offer price (standard fee £399).

Are the results guaranteed?

No dental practice in the UK can guarantee a specific whitening result. The final shade depends on your starting tooth colour, the cause of any discolouration, how consistently you follow the treatment instructions, and your diet and lifestyle. Results vary between patients. Your dentist will discuss what is realistic for your teeth at your assessment.

How do I book a whitening assessment?

You can book online or call us on 020 7183 2362. New patients are welcome. We will start with a short examination to confirm your teeth and gums are healthy and that whitening is suitable for you before any treatment is provided.
