Why Choose an IgE Blood Test?

No need to stop antihistamines

Unlike skin-prick testing, IgE blood test results are unaffected by your usual allergy medication — carry on as normal.

One sample, hundreds of answers

A single blood draw can screen everything from peanut to pollen — including the 300-allergen ALEX³ test.

Component-resolved diagnostics

Advanced testing identifies the specific allergenic proteins involved, helping distinguish true allergy from cross-reactivity.

No skin exposure to allergens

Blood testing involves no skin exposure to allergens — a practical option for eczema-prone skin and those with a history of significant reactions.

Impartial, diagnostics-only service

We don’t sell treatments, injections or supplements — so you get honest results with no upselling.

Private Allergy Testing in the City of London

Allergies are thought to affect around 1 in 4 people in the UK, yet many spend years guessing at their triggers. Private IgE blood testing offers an objective way to investigate suspected food allergies, hay fever, pet allergies, insect venom sensitivity and certain drug allergies. Our nurse-led service covers everything from a single allergen test (from £48) to the ALEX³ Allergy Explorer, which screens around 300 allergens and allergen components from one small blood sample.

Because our testing is blood-based, there is no need to stop antihistamines before your appointment and no skin exposure to allergens — making it a practical option for people with eczema-prone skin or a history of significant reactions. Simply book online or call the clinic; no GP referral is required. Our allergy testing service is available to patients aged 16 and over. Our City of London clinic is at 5 Ave Maria Lane, EC4M 7AQ — a 4-minute walk from St Paul’s tube station, with City Thameslink, Blackfriars, Bank and Barbican also close by, opening September 2026. Until then, our South Kensington clinic at 20 Old Brompton Road, SW7 3DL is open seven days a week.

We are strictly a testing service. We do not provide allergy treatment, immunotherapy or supplements, so we have no incentive to over-interpret your results or recommend unnecessary follow-on purchases. Instead, you receive clear laboratory reporting and impartial guidance on sensible next steps.

It is worth noting that IgE results show sensitisation, which does not always mean a clinically significant allergy — results should be interpreted alongside your clinical history. Our reports are written clearly and are easy to share with your GP or an allergy specialist if further assessment would be helpful.

Our clinicians are registered with the GMC and NMC, and the clinic is CQC-registered (Provider: Medical and Dental Limited).
