About the Bowel Cancer Screening
Our Bowel Cancer Risk Screening is available at St Paul's Medical and Dental, 5 Ave Maria Lane, London EC4M 7AQ. Located near St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London, our clinic offers convenient access for professionals working in the Square Mile. This screening includes 2 biomarkers with results available in 5 working days, priced at £219.
Bowel cancer (colorectal cancer) is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, with approximately 42,000 new cases each year according to Cancer Research UK. When identified at an early stage, treatment outcomes are significantly better — over 90% of people with stage 1 bowel cancer survive for 5 years or more. This screening includes markers that can help identify changes warranting further investigation.
The NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme invites adults aged 60–74 for regular screening, but private screening allows individuals to test at any age. Risk factors include age over 50, a family history of bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), or a diet high in processed meat and low in fibre. This blood-based screening provides a convenient complement to faecal testing and can be discussed alongside your results with a healthcare professional.
Our City of London clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The clinic is a short walk from St Paul’s Underground station (Central line) and City Thameslink rail station. Appointments are available throughout the day, and results include a detailed nurse-written review. To book your Bowel Cancer Risk Screening, call 020 7183 3709 or book online.

Altered Bowel Habit
Persistent change in bowel frequency, stool consistency, or tenesmus.

How to Prepare
Stay well hydrated
Drink plenty of water before your appointment. Good hydration makes it easier for the registered nurse to draw your blood sample.
Bring a list of current medications
Some medications can affect biomarker levels. Knowing what you take helps our team interpret your results accurately.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours beforehand
Intense physical activity can temporarily affect certain blood markers including liver enzymes, muscle markers, and hormone levels.
