About the Testicular Cancer Screening South Kensington
Our Testicular Cancer Blood Screening is available at South Kensington Medical and Dental, 20 Old Brompton Road, South Kensington, London SW7 3DL. Our South Kensington clinic is a short walk from South Kensington Underground station, with flexible opening hours including weekends. This screening includes 3 biomarkers with results available in 1 working day, priced at £249 inclusive of blood draw by a registered nurse.
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 15–49 in the UK, with around 2,300 new cases each year according to Cancer Research UK. It has one of the highest treatment success rates among cancers, particularly when identified early. This screening measures tumour markers including Alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP), Beta-hCG, and Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH), which are proteins that can be elevated in certain types of testicular cancer.
These markers are not elevated in all cases of testicular cancer, and elevated levels can also occur due to other conditions. However, baseline measurement and trend monitoring can provide useful information alongside physical examination. Men who have had an undescended testicle, a family history of testicular cancer, or a previous testicular condition may benefit from periodic screening.
Our South Kensington clinic offers flexible opening hours: Monday and Wednesday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. We are a short walk from South Kensington Underground station (Piccadilly, District, and Circle lines). To book your Testicular Cancer Blood Screening, call 020 7183 2362 or book online.

How to Prepare
Stay well hydrated
Drink plenty of water before your appointment. Good hydration makes it easier for the registered nurse to draw your blood sample.
Bring a list of current medications
Some medications can affect biomarker levels. Knowing what you take helps our team interpret your results accurately.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours beforehand
Intense physical activity can temporarily affect certain blood markers including liver enzymes, muscle markers, and hormone levels.
