About the Allergy Screening
Our Comprehensive Allergy Screening is available at St Paul's Medical and Dental, 5 Ave Maria Lane, London EC4M 7AQ. Located near St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London, our clinic offers convenient access for professionals working in the Square Mile. This screening includes 11 biomarkers with results available in 4 working days, priced at £499 inclusive of blood draw by a registered nurse.
Allergies affect millions of people in the UK. Allergy UK estimates that up to 44% of British adults have at least one allergy, and the prevalence of allergic conditions has been increasing over recent decades. This screening measures specific IgE antibodies to a panel of common food and environmental allergens, helping to identify substances that may be triggering allergic responses such as hives, digestive discomfort, respiratory symptoms, or skin reactions.
The screening covers common food allergens including nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, and shellfish, as well as environmental triggers such as house dust mites, grass pollen, tree pollen, cat dander, and dog dander. IgE-mediated allergies produce measurable antibody responses that can be quantified through blood testing. This approach does not require skin prick testing and carries no risk of allergic reaction during the test itself, as only a blood sample is required.
Our City of London clinic is open Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The clinic is a short walk from St Paul’s Underground station (Central line) and City Thameslink rail station. Appointments are available throughout the day, and results include a detailed nurse-written review. To book your Comprehensive Allergy Screening, call 020 7183 3709 or book online.
