Why Marylebone

Since 2015 Medical & Dental has worked from two addresses: a seven-day clinic on Old Brompton Road in South Kensington and, more recently, a weekday clinic beside St Paul's in the City. Both are busy, and both have a steady stream of patients travelling in from the West End and the north of Westminster. When we started looking for a third site, the brief was simple: somewhere those patients could reach without crossing London, and somewhere that would let us slow the pace of a visit down rather than speed it up.

Marylebone answered both. The streets between Marylebone High Street and Portland Place have housed doctors and dentists since the nineteenth century, so the infrastructure that a clinic needs, from specialist laboratories to imaging, is already on the doorstep. Bond Street and Oxford Circus stations are a short walk. And yet Wimpole Street itself, one block east of Harley Street, is remarkably still. Traffic is light, the pavements are wide, and the terraces have kept their Georgian proportions.

The building

Number 22 is a Georgian townhouse with the tall windows and high ceilings typical of the street, and the fit-out has worked with those proportions rather than against them. Dental surgeries and a consulting room for medical testing, where blood tests, sexual health screening, health checks and allergy testing take place, sit under the same roof, so a dental patient can add a blood test to a visit without a second journey. The building was made for conversation rather than machinery, and a good deal of the work has gone into keeping it quiet.

What we have deliberately not done is fill the place with screens and slogans. Reception is a room with chairs and a desk. You will be greeted by name, and the aim is that you are not kept waiting long enough to need the magazines.

How we work

Three principles carry over from our other clinics, and they are the reason patients follow us between them.

  Appointments are not rushed. We book with enough time to examine properly, explain properly and answer questions. We would rather see fewer patients well than more patients quickly.

  One team, one price list. The dentists, hygienists, GP and nurse you will meet on Wimpole Street are the same people who staff South Kensington and St Paul's, and the fee for a given treatment is identical at every address. A written plan comes before any treatment beyond an examination, and it is priced in full.

  Medical testing is self-referral. You choose the test and book directly, with no GP referral needed. A nurse or phlebotomist takes the sample, a UKAS-accredited partner laboratory analyses it, and the report reaches your secure portal showing each value against its reference range. We do not interpret results, so take the report to your GP or a clinician.

What happens on 1 October 2026

The Marylebone diary opens for online booking a few weeks before we open the door. From the first day we will run a full dental service, including emergency slots, alongside morning blood-test and screening appointments. Evening sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Saturday opening are in place from the start, not phased in later. Patients who have registered interest by email will be contacted first when the diary is released.
