Dentures cost in London: four materials, four fees, and the upkeep to budget for
Denture pricing is refreshingly simple compared with most dental fees, because the material largely sets the number. At Wimpole Street an acrylic partial is £795, a flexible Valplast partial £895, a full acrylic arch £1,095 and a cobalt-chrome denture £1,395. Each fee covers every visit from first impression to final adjustment. Where denture costs become less predictable is over the years that follow: ridges shrink, acrylic wears and clasps bend, so relines, repairs and eventual remakes are part of the true cost of owning a denture. This guide gives the list, explains what pushes a case up or down, itemises what is and is not included, and describes how implant retention changes both the experience and the bill.

Variables
What changes the price
Partial or full
A full acrylic arch is priced above a partial because there is more to design and no teeth to help hold it. A chrome framework is the same fee whether it carries a few teeth or many.
One arch or two
Upper and lower dentures are priced individually. Making both together is usually the better clinical outcome because the bite is designed as a pair.
Immediate dentures
A denture fitted on the day teeth are extracted is priced as normal, but it will need a reline or remake within months as the gums heal and shrink, which should be budgeted for.
Implant retention
Adding two to four implants to hold a denture transforms its stability, particularly on the lower jaw, but adds the implant and attachment fees. It is quoted only after a CT scan.
Upkeep
Relines every two to three years, occasional repairs and a remake after five to eight years for acrylic or ten to fifteen for chrome are the recurring costs that a headline fee does not show.

Paying
Spreading the cost
Dentures sit at the lower end of restorative fees but can still be spread. Interest-free instalments over up to twelve months are available on eligible plans, subject to status. A cobalt-chrome denture at £1,395 would be just over £116 a month across twelve months; a pair of full acrylic dentures at £2,190 would be £182.50.
Otherwise payment is taken in two stages: part at the impression visit and the balance at fitting. Implant-retained plans are staged to match the surgical and prosthetic phases.

Across London, private dentures are quoted from around £500 for a basic acrylic partial to £2,500 or more for a cobalt-chrome or premium full set, with implant-retained dentures running well into five figures once the implants are counted. Very low quotes often reflect stock teeth, a single impression stage and no try-in, which shows in the fit and appearance.

Questions about cost
Probably cobalt-chrome, despite the higher initial fee. It lasts ten to fifteen years against five to eight for acrylic, is thinner and more stable, and its acrylic teeth can be replaced on the same framework.
Yes. Seeing the teeth set in wax before the denture is finished is the point at which shape, shade and position can still be changed, and we would not make a denture without it.
It depends on how many implants are needed and the denture type, so it is quoted after a CT scan. As a guide, each implant is priced from £2,950 for a single tooth, though implants used purely to retain a denture are quoted as part of the overall plan.
