Dental implant cost in London: what £2,950 covers and what can be added
Implant quotes are notoriously hard to compare because clinics split the same treatment into different parts. Some advertise a low figure for the titanium post alone and add the abutment, crown and reviews later; others bundle everything. At Wimpole Street a single implant is £2,950 and that figure includes the surgical placement, the healing reviews, the connector and the final crown, so the tooth you end up chewing on is the one you were quoted for. The items that can legitimately add to it are a bone graft where the scan shows too little ridge, the CT scan itself, and any extraction or gum treatment needed before placement. Multiple implants, implant-retained dentures and full-arch bridges are quoted individually once the scan has been read.

What changes the price
Number of implants
Each additional implant with its crown is priced separately, but a bridge on two implants can replace three teeth, so more gaps does not always mean proportionally more posts.
What happens to the failing tooth
If a tooth still has to come out, the extraction and any socket preservation are separate items, and healing may add two to three months before placement.
Position in the mouth
Front teeth demand more of the technician for the crown to look natural against its neighbours; the implant fee does not change but the case may take an extra try-in visit.
Gum health first
Active gum disease must be treated before implants are placed. That treatment is priced on its own and is not optional if the implant is to survive.
Full-arch designs
All-on-4 style bridges and implant-retained dentures involve several implants, surgical guides, provisional teeth and a long laboratory process, so they are always quoted after planning rather than from a list.

Paying
Spreading the cost
An implant is a significant sum and most patients choose to spread it. Interest-free instalments over up to twelve months are available on eligible plans, subject to status. A single implant at £2,950 spread over twelve months works out at just under £246 a month with nothing added. Longer terms carry interest and are quoted individually.
Payment is staged in any case: part at placement and the balance when the crown is fitted, months later. Grafting and the scan are paid as they happen.

How we compare
A single implant in London is quoted anywhere from about £1,500 to over £5,000. The lower figures usually cover the post alone or come with conditions; the higher ones tend to come from specialist referral practices or clinics on the W1 medical streets, and sometimes reflect premium implant systems or extensive grafting rather than a better outcome.
At £2,950 including the crown, our fee sits in the middle of that spread and is identical at all three Medical & Dental clinics. The comparison we would ask you to make is whether a quote includes the crown and abutment, how many reviews are covered, what the warranty terms are, and whether a CT scan has actually been taken before the figure was given.
FAQ
Questions about cost
Yes. Post, abutment and crown, plus the reviews between them. The items charged separately are the consultation, the CT scan and any grafting or extraction the scan shows to be necessary.
It depends how long the tooth has been missing and where. A recently lost molar often needs none; an upper front tooth lost years ago frequently does. The scan tells us and the plan will say so before you commit.
Because the number of implants, the need for grafting, the type of provisional teeth and the final material all vary case by case. A figure given without a scan would be a guess, and we would rather not guess with sums of that size.
Repair or replacement of the implant or crown if it fails within the warranty period, subject to terms: keeping your review and hygiene appointments, not smoking and following aftercare advice. It is not a promise of a lifetime outcome.
They can be, but aftercare is the problem. Implants need reviews over years and complications need attention quickly. Many UK dentists are reluctant to take on another clinic’s implant system, so factor the cost of follow-up into any comparison.
