Dental bridge cost in London: priced by the unit, explained by the gap
Bridges are priced by counting units: every crown that sits on an anchor tooth and every false tooth that spans the gap is one unit, and at Wimpole Street each unit is £995. A single missing tooth with a crown either side is therefore three units at £2,985; a two-tooth gap is four units at £3,980; and a cantilever design, which uses one anchor crown and one pontic, is two units at £1,990. The exception is the Maryland (resin-bonded) bridge, which is priced as a single restoration from £1,030 because its wing is bonded rather than crowned. The count is the whole story for most cases. What can add to it is the condition of the anchor teeth: if one needs root canal treatment or a core built up before it can carry a crown, those items appear on the plan as well. What changes the price
Design
A Maryland bridge costs a third less than a conventional one for the same gap because it uses a single wing rather than two crowns, but it suits only front teeth in a light bite.
Condition of the anchors
Anchor teeth with dying nerves need root canal treatment first, and badly broken-down anchors need cores. These are itemised separately and are why two quotes for the same gap can differ.
Material
Zirconia, layered ceramic and metal-ceramic are all available at the same per-unit fee here; the technician and dentist choose based on position and load rather than price.
Implant support
Carrying the bridge on implants instead of natural teeth adds the implant fees but removes the need to drill neighbours and allows longer spans. Always quoted after a CT scan.
What is already there
Replacing an old bridge means removing it and reassessing the anchors underneath. The unit count is the same; the likelihood of extra work on the anchors is higher.

Paying
Spreading the cost
A three-unit bridge at £2,985 is a common candidate for spreading. Interest-free instalments over up to twelve months are available on eligible plans, subject to status, which would put that bridge at just under £249 a month with nothing added. A Maryland bridge at £1,030 would be about £86 a month over the same term.
Otherwise the fee is taken in two stages: half at preparation and the balance at fitting. Any work on the anchor teeth beforehand is paid at the visit it is done.

Bridge fees across London are usually quoted per unit or per finished bridge, with three-unit bridges ranging roughly from £1,800 to over £4,000. The low end often reflects metal-ceramic work from an overseas laboratory; the high end tends to be zirconia from specialist practices. Maryland bridges run from around £700 to £2,000.

Because the false tooth has to be carried by something. In a conventional design that means a crown on the tooth each side, so one gap becomes three units. A cantilever bridge uses one anchor crown, so two units. A Maryland bridge bonds a wing rather than crowning the anchor, which is why it is priced as a single restoration from £1,030.
Roughly the same for a single gap: £2,985 for three units against £2,950 for an implant with crown. The bridge is quicker and avoids surgery; the implant leaves the neighbours alone and tends to last longer. When the neighbours already need crowns the bridge is better value; when they are sound the implant usually is.
